How Often Should I Visit the Optometrist?
The American Optometric Association recommends that adults ages 18–64 receive an eye exam at least once every 2 years. Once you reach 65, annual exams are advisable because of an increased risk of age-related eye conditions.
Patients with certain medical conditions or a family history of eye disease may need more frequent evaluations. We’ll work with you to tailor an exam schedule to your specific needs.
What to Expect During Your Eye Exam
We’ll begin by discussing your medical history and any vision concerns you might have. Our examination includes tests to assess your visual acuity, evaluate how your eyes work together, and determine your current prescription.
We’ll also examine the internal and external structures of your eyes to check for signs of eye diseases. Our modern diagnostic technology is noninvasive and can help us identify eye health issues before serious symptoms present and affect your vision.
Some common vision problems we look for in adults include:
Neurolens: Relief for Eye Strain & Headaches
Do your eyes feel exhausted after a long day looking at screens? Does your neck ache, or do you get frequent headaches? We want to help!
Neurolens glasses are designed to correct subtle misalignments in your eyes that can cause eye strain, headaches, light sensitivity, and aching shoulders. For many of our patients, the relief of wearing Neurolenses makes a major difference in their quality of life every single day.
